Transitions Students of Visions


PINELLAS PARK, Fla., Nov. 15, 2010 – Transitions Optical, Inc. is accepting applications for its 2011 Students of Vision Scholarship program, supported by the Transitions Healthy Sight for Life Fund™. Optometry, opticianry and paraoptometric students from across North America can submit projects demonstrating their multicultural vision.

Students are encouraged to be creative as they explore their role in care for ethnically diverse patients. Projects can include, but are not limited to, research papers, presentations, videos, posters and community outreach and are accepted in three categories: Activity/Event, Multi-media and Other.

Submissions are judged by a group of Transitions Optical representatives, eyecare professionals and marketing specialists. Category winners will receive $1,000 and also have their entries featured on Transitions Optical’s website for eyecare professionals,; other winners will receive $500. Additionally, the top five opticianry students will receive a trip to the 2011 ABO-NCLE National Education Conference in Cincinnati. While there, students can attend continuing education courses, and present their projects during the poster session.
