Alexandria, VA (April, 2013) – The Vision Council is excited to announce the addition of two new high-profile spokespeople, Lawrence Zarian and Jenn Falik, to its Eyecessorize fashion eyewear campaign. Zarian and Falik, both style experts, will help promote eyewear as a must-have fashion accessory throughout 2013 by making national TV and satellite media tour appearances, attending Eyecessorize-related events, contributing to seasonal trend kits and engaging in social media, among other efforts. For more information about Zarian and Falik’s experience in the industry, go to Eyecessorize.com.
“Eyecessorize continues to evolve every year, allowing us to reach millions of fashion-conscious consumers with our eyewear-related messaging,” said Steve Rappoport, chair of The Vision Council’s Marketing and Communications Committee and president of L’Amy America. “Bringing on Jenn and Lawrence as our fashion and style experts will go a long way in helping to ensure our messaging – from an industry perspective – remains consistent and on-trend. This is an exciting growth period for Eyecessorize, and there’s more to come!”
Unfamiliar with Eyecessorize? Well, it’s The Vision Council’s campaign to increase awareness of the fashion and lifestyle aspects of eyewear. Since the campaign was revamped in 2007, it continues to gain momentum through its many ventures, including blogging and heavily participating in social media. The Eyecessorize blog has become a flagship for the campaign, covering Vision Council members’ product releases, specialty events and other topics of interest to consumers. In addition, Eyecessorize has made its mark on Facebook—with more than 77,000 “likes” and counting—Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr and, most recently, Instagram (@eyecessorize).
And that’s not all. Throughout the year, Eyecessorize hosts two events geared toward fashion media. The campaign kicked off 2013 with an exclusive consumer press event at International Vision Expo East in New York City. More than 40 editors from top-tier magazines like O, The Oprah Magazine, GLAMOUR, InStyle, Men’s Health, Marie Claire, Travel + Leisure and Allure, just to name a few, attended the event to check out the spring eyewear and sunwear trends, and view displayed frames from show exhibitors. A recent Eyecessorize blog post provides a more in-depth overview of the event’s happenings. But be sure to keep in mind that the same event will be held at next year’s Vision Expo East.
For the fourth consecutive year, Eyecessorize plans to host an eyewear trend and product preview this fall in partnership with Stylesight, a trend forecasting service. Invited media will have the opportunity to receive exclusive trend information and view product from members of The Vision Council. To learn more about last year’s event, go to the Eyecessorize blog.
To keep up with the fast-moving world of fashion, Eyecessorize will release a fall/winter trend kit this summer. The kit will focus on eyewear and sunwear trends for the upcoming season, and be sent to fashion and lifestyle editors nationwide. In addition, Eyecessorize will release various look books and e-blasts both of which showcase members’ products to illustrate over-arching eyewear trends.
As a result of Eyecessorize’s marketing materials and events, editors frequently request product, product images and/or supplemental eyewear-related information to feature in their media outlets. This year alone, Eyecessorize has already secured more than 30 million media impressions through print, online and broadcast placements in top-selling publications like Men’s Health, SELF, Women’s World Daily and The Knot, as well as on hit broadcast programs like “TODAY” and “Live From the Couch.”
“There are plenty of opportunities for companies to showcase their products and spread their message through Eyecessorize,” said Rappoport. “And now with our new spokespeople on board, we only expect the campaign to keep growing—so don’t miss out on all this campaign has to offer.”
