Giles Deacon Runway show featured fun, bright floral and mixed prints for Spring Summer 2011. Matching accessories where also other worldly in with bon-bon hats, and hanging ear muffs. Edgy but wearable (maybe not the bon-bon hat) trendy but classic lines. To my uneducated designer clothing eye, I loved the styles, an updated retro look, could see Audrey Hepburn in some of the styles.
All eyewear was cat-eyed going with the theme of what I would call understated flamboyance. Cat-Eyed eyewear and sunwear in various degrees of cattiness will be a strong eyewear fashion trend through 2011. We have seen much of them on the runways and would consider it the next step up for retro and vintage looks. The best part, in color, lots and lots of color, which is wonderful for many people as black and brown look terrible on much of the population.
For those who don’t know Giles (I didn’t) he is a British designer who launched in 2004. His clients are; Princess Beatrice, Drew Barrymore, Thandie Newton, Scarlett Johansson, Gwen Stefani, Mischa Barton.
We don’t know where you can get the eyewear. Many times runway eyewear is in collaboration with frame designers.
