‘Tis the season for colorful eyewear, but leave it to the high-end designers to dictate what’s hot. In this past year the masters are adding over the top elements such as curves and layers thus creating texture and silhouettes like never before!

Rochase SS14
Rochas SS14

When you’re a French Fashion House such as Rochas there is no surprise you partake in designing eyewear that is Haute-Haute-Haute. These sunning glasses feature opaque beige frames and dark black lenses piped with a lively yellow.

Here we find the same Rochas shades but with clear frames.  The curves and proportions of the lenses to the frames create an optical illusion of tiny eyes.  There is also a pale pink portion lining the lenses that is beyond blush-worthy.

There is so much inspiration behind the collaboration between eyewear design company Linda Farrow and fashion design company Prabal Gurung.  These chunky sculpture inspired shades are 1960’s babe meets Joan Jetson.

I love the classic cat eye frame embedded within modern asymmetric yellow portion of these sunglasses.  The chunky black arms fall right in line with the look of these stunning sunnies.

Nina Ricci gives us a very geometric look with these sharp shades.  An optical illusion of a pentagon is created  by the black color-blocking on the brow bridge of the sunglasses.

Jeremy Scott is well known for his sense of humor in fashion.  These oversized gummy neon green glasses are just another example of his quirky eye for design.
