Hollie Amber White at the London College of Fashion in a project to reuse leather made a series of fashion accessories out of waste leather including sunglasses. She said ‘ I wanted to create a relationship between the waste material and the resulting products that would legitimize processes of recycling within the luxury industry. Through these products, the discarded waste assumes new value and meaning, not only offering a solution to the problem of waste, but importantly, it draws awareness to mass consumption and encourages the consumer to engage with processes of manufacturing.’
She did a wonderful job and we would love to see them in production.
