Dawn Kime of Emergexpo, organiser of the newly launched The Eye Show, that is scheduled to run 12 – 14 February 2013 in London’s ExCeL exhibition and conference centre, reports that the show is already ahead of its initial exhibitor sales targets.  The event officially rolled out early in June 2012 with over 75 companies from both the UK and overseas quickly registering to take part.

Dawn says, “The demand has been so high that we secured an additional hall to complement the initially booked space.  Now with this latest influx of new companies looking to exhibit we are well above our sales targets for this period of the launch.  This is extremely encouraging for us, particularly as a high volume of UK reservations have come from FMO members.

The exhibition has been organised as a result of industry demand and feedback, and with participation already confirmed from countries such as the UK, Korea, India, China, Dubai, France and Germany, the Eye Show 2013 will be a truly international platform on which companies can secure new business.

Exhibiting companies have welcomed the introduction of an international platform for the industry in the UK.

Chris Beal, managing director of Menrad says, “An annual global show in the UK is without a doubt an exciting development. We attend international exhibitions elsewhere so it’s refreshing to now have our own event here in the UK – and as importantly be based in London.  The Eye Show will encompass many of the fashion elements of the industry which fits well with us. The optics market is evolving and it’s important for us to keep pace and be open to new opportunities.”

Harvey Dhadwar from FEI in the UK says, “An international show in London is an ideal platform to showcase our exciting brands”

Exhibitors from Germany agree.   “Cazal Eyewear is looking forward to exhibiting at The Eye Show in London next February.  We are delighted to be part of this exciting first exhibition, because it presents us with the perfect opportunity to profile our company on an international stage in the UK.  The concept and layout are spot on.” Says Sonja Dengler.

Alexander Uebele from  AXEL S. Modebrillen GmbH in Germany says, “The Eye Show presents us with the ideal international stage in the UK. The launch of an event for our industry in London is very exciting and we are looking forward to exhibiting, networking and meeting new contacts.”

Maarten from Wildwechsel adds, “At last a new fair with power and passion – perfect for our individual glasses.”

Waterside Laboratories’ Nick Cooper also comments, “We are very excited about the launch of The Eye Show.  It delivers a much needed instant international flavour to the UK industry stage.  The Eye Show has come at the right time for us as we are going through a re-launch and are reviewing all our marketing activity looking for new and innovative opportunities to take our business forward.  We are confident that The Eye Show, with all its exciting content and ambitious promotions will help us to achieve our publicity objectives in the short and long term!”
