Artist collaborations and eyewear have been making an impact over the last several years. A new campaign on Kickstarter by wood eyewear company Bosky aims to be the first artistic collaboration using wood eyewear as a ‘canvas’. Pulling together 13 artists from 5 continents, with each artists creating their own expression on the temples. For every pair sold, the artist is directly benefited through a royalty award. For instance, graphic designer Matteo Zilla, he sees this campaign as means of getting his name and artwork exposure through a whole new medium.
The Kickstarter campaign dedicated to this project officially launched July 15th, 2014. They are offering three KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE models of sunglasses in a classic wayfarer design. Each of these three models comes in both a large and small size, to accommodate different head sizes. After picking the model of sunglasses that interests you most, you may choose a graphic to engrave on the sunglasses. After choosing which reward you want and donating, they will contact you and ask you for the model name, size of sunglasses and artist name.
