LEWISVILLE, TEXAS, (September, 2012) The free form revolution has come to Iowa! HOYA Vision Care announced today the grand opening of their newest laboratory in Des Moines, Iowa. “The opportunity to locally service independent ECPs in another market is exciting for us. The Des Moines area is growing and we want to grow with it,” said Michael Dougher, Regional Vice President for HOYA Vision Care.

The new lab, located at 8170 Hickman Road in Clive, IA. “We are excited to bring HOYA’s leading edge lens designs, materials and treatments to local independent practitioners as well as provide additional training, customized reporting that helps uncover growth opportunities, in-office-ABO seminars and other tools to help advance practice profitability and provide the best vision solutions for patients” said Cheryl Oberlee, Regional Manager for Hoya Vision Care. “It is no different in Iowa than it is in the rest of the country, the lens and lab business is about people and relationships,” said Jeff Fazio HOYA’s territory manager, he continued, “HOYA’s support of independent practices rings loud and clear with our commitment to service our accounts locally.”

The ribbon cutting ceremony and reception took place on August 24th. Local territory manager Jeff Fazio and regional manager Cheryl Oberlee were on hand with representatives from the new Iowa Lab, Melinda Hunter, Sarah Thomason and Justin Thompson. Melinda is ABOC and has 45 year’s experience in the lens and lab business having done everything there is to do from delivery and sales to retail, whole sale and lab work, “Our Iowa service center is going to focus on quality and service as we work our way to becoming a full service operation.” Sarah is an Iowa native with nearly five years of optical service experience and Justin recently moved to the area after having been with Oakley in California.
