What is more biodegradable than fish scales and if you think about the millions of fish scales that are thrown away, what potential! Erik deLaurens, a student, came up with this way to reuse fish scales in a plastic to make not just glass but eyewear and goggles. Talk about eco friendly eyewear!

Erik’s work has been shortlisted for the ‘Sustain RCA award 2011’ He will show his work in the Sustain exhibition which will take place during the London design week in September 2011. The show will also featured a selection of sustainable objects, thinking and solutions from across the art and design disciplines.
