Hauppauge, NY – February 2010 – ClearVision Optical, a leader in the eyewear industry, showed its support for Pride for Youth, a not-for-profit organization that offers support, counseling, and education for teens struggling with their gender and sexuality, by presenting them with a check donation on Friday, February 5, 2010.
In summer 2009, ClearVision sponsored a Museum Way art exhibit with the works of Hannah Rae Hegnauer, a local and talented photographer whose photographs have been featured in Anne Waldman’s book Outrider (La Alameda Press, 2006).
Currently a book designer for several prestigious firms in New York, in her spare time, Hannah enjoys photographing the East Coast of the United States. Her inspiration for the Shuttering West exhibit came as result of living in Colorado and Washington almost her whole life and having often traveled amongst the two. Her photographs are brief pauses in these places.
On display in ClearVision’s Museum Way until December 2009, her prints were available for purchase to friends of ClearVision. 15 prints were sold and 100% of the proceeds from the sale of each print sold were donated to the Long Island Crisis Center’s Pride for Youth, an organization near and dear to Hannah’s heart.
ClearVision Optical’s Vice President Peter Friedfeld presented the organization’s Executive Director, Linda Leonard, MS, with a check from the exhibit which will help fund future Pride for Youth services.
