Right now Barbados will do whatever it can to bring in more tourists. In fact, Barbados has just recently outlined its plans to develop its health and wellness tourism sector to help overcome the the recent problems it has been facing with the global economic climate.

Richard Sealy, the Barbados Minister of Tourism, said that health and wellness tourism is growing faster than the overall travel and tourism industry. Barbados plans to get on board with this market as it continues to improve.

A recent study that was done by the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association found that Barbados needs to do more to capitalize on this profitable market. The study went on to say that as wellness tourism is not seasonal, and there is year round potential for cosmetic surgery and non invasive treatments, it’s perfect for Barbados to keep people coming in all year round.
