At the ripe age of 22 Brian Williman started the Swiss company Bambood. The objective was simple: to create wearable sunglasses made out of wood. We applaud the innovative use of raw materials that were used in the creation of each unique pair of glasses.
Bambood’s “Squared” frames are made from, you guessed it, Bamboo! These easy going sunnies feature mirrored yellow lenses and traditional squared off temples synonymous to a classic wayfarer style. The timeless shape of these Bambood frames are guaranteed to be a crowd pleaser.
It’s not to hard to postulate that the company might have been inspired by the word “Bamboo”. The name Bambood in its entirety is actually a combination of “Bamboo” + “Wood”. Keeping to the integrity of the latter part of the namesake, here are the lovely “O” sunglasses which have been crafted out of Rosewood. These modern shaped frames feature brown lenses which achieve an overall cohesive and monochromatic look.
The “Loud” sunglasses are an aviator shaped frame that has been created out of the affordable and sustainable resource that is bamboo. The curves at the nose bridge give these classic shades a modern day makeover while the grey lenses provide a nice contrast to the lightness of the bamboo. Bambood is certainly an eyewear company representing Light, Green, Fashion.
