Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Leon Bridges debuted his new album, Good Thing at #3 on the Billboard charts in May and is currently touring the US to the acclaim of critics everywhere. The vintage obsessed singer is collaborating Ahlem Manai-Platt’s Ahlem Eyewear to make a line of 50 solid-gold frame sunglasses.
Ahlem, designed by CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Ahlem Manai-Platt, has a vintage aesthetic complimentary to Bridges’ own. Their capsule collection, Ahlem for Leon Bridges, is a line of retro-inspired sunglasses inspired by Good Thing.
Leon’s new album title “Good Thing” is laser engraved across the temples of the frames and his lyrics “alright, alright, all day all night” are laser engraved across the rims of the clip-ons. This special package includes the limited-edition pair of sunglasses, clip-on, and Leon Bridges “Good Thing” vinyl.
The sunglasses are handmade in France and feature Christian Dalloz Hydrophobic Lenses, 100% UVA/UVB protection and titanium nose pads. Each piece will have “good Thing” laser engraved across the temples along with the lyrics “alright, alright, all day all night” are laser engraved across the rims of the clip-ons. The sunglasses will ship on September 10, 2018 at a cost of $690, with 70% of the proceeds going to Westminster Elementary in Venice California, a magnet school focusing on math, science, technology and environmental studies—with a student body predominantly comprised of students of color.
