The SUNPOCKET story starts in France in the late 1970´s / early 1980´s. The SUNPOCKET brand is and has always been strongly associated with the joyful and colourful era of the 1980´s.
in 2011 the original Sunpocket shades will be re-launched.
The shades with their “all weather” lenses (darker lower parts to protect from reflections of snow/water, and upper to protect from the sun) were originally made for summer / winter sports and leisure.
SUNPOCKET became a big hit in street- as well as in sports fashion..
The colourful foldable shades with their mirror shaded glass introduced a combination of funkiness, functionality, and rock ´n roll into the 80´s eyewear fashion scene.
The plan to re-launch the sleeping brand occurred in 2009 when a pair of SUNPOCKET originals was found in a cottage in Trysil, a Norwegian ski resort.
The SUNPOCKET soul has been resting for 30 years.
Now, it’s time to bring back the joy and rock ´n roll of the 80´s. less
