There are lots of ‘new’ designers, but one designer that has been around since 1949 is Ellen Tracy. A man named Herbert Gallen started what was then called Betty Barr (after his wife). In 1940 he got a backer, opened up a showroom and called the line Ellen Tracy. Linda Allard, was a design assistant that was hired in 1962, hence the collection Linda Allard for Ellen Tracy. Ellen Tracy was purchased by Liz Clairborne in 2002.
Ellen Tracy clothing is a mid to higher end dressy line that is great in a professional or work capacity. The eyewear mirrors that look. For Spring Summer 2017, the classic uplifting professional look has a zyl front with a layered look with ‘metal’ temples.
In Ravenna, those metal temples morph into a subtle touch of glamour, small stones grace the hinge, a nice jewelry accent.
The Ellen Tracy Eyewear collection was created in and is distributed by Clearvision Optical.
