From Contact Lens Spectrum: Lens Dynamics, Inc. and Firestone Optics, Inc. announced that they have agreed to merge. Effective January 1, 2010, Lens Dynamics will become a wholly owned subsidiary Firestone Optics, Inc. Al Vaske will continue in his current role as President of Lens Dynamics and Kathy Vaske will continue as head of Lens Dynamics customer service. Both will also continue to be based in Denver, Colorado.
Manufacturing of the Lens Dynamics specialty GP contact lenses, including their line of unique semiscleral, multiquadrant (Quad) lenses and keratoconus lenses, will be transferred to Firestone’s Kansas City, Missouri laboratory. Firestone’s award winning manufacturing facility is ISO and CMDAS certified. Firestone currently manufactures the Tangent Streak family of lenses in addition to many specialty and GP single vision lenses, and is also an authorized distributor of all major brands of soft contact lenses.
