Gobi Sunglasses Inspired by Desert Colors

Many years ago, I read this book called The Horse Boy, a story about a family that took their autistic boy across Mongolia (Gobi Desert) to find a ‘cure’. Ever since reading that book, Mongolia and the Gobi Desert have been on my bucket list.

When a sunglass company, names itself, Gobi- Amsterdam, you just have to have a look see… how could a company evolve itself around a desert? If they were going to pick a desert, it is a good thing they picked the Gobi, between sunsets and sunrises, extreme temperatures, forests, rivers, oasis, mountains, sand dunes, camel, yurts, clear skies, dry earth steppes, the colors and culture are endless. Now I want to go even more!

Gobi-Amsterdam was inspired by a trip to the Gobi Desert back in 2009 and the dream became a reality in 2013. Today the boutique collection comprises of four styles in five natural colors. The colors are true to the Gobi Desert.
