Usually we show eyewear products from France or Italy. Over the last several years, a few fashion eyewear centers have emerged. One market that we have not really written about is Turkey. An old but new eyewear company Azir Mizar seems to be making a spectacle of themselves with their eyewear collection. When I say old but new, I mean the optical company goes back to 1920, when Turkey was called the Ottoman Empire. Founder, Tevfik Rıza Efendi opened his optical shop in 1924. Proceeding on they launched an eyeglass parts manufacturer in 1979 and in 2010 launched their first ‘Eyewear Collection’ of custom and limited edition eyewear. Over the last several years they have collaborated with several Turkish designer and been seen on runways.
Their look is simple, basic seven styles with 2 different types clip-ons featuring Carl Zeiss lenses.
